What are the benefits of studying a short course?
Short courses are less of a commitment time-wise than longer courses, and they cost less, meaning you can more easily pursue study that interests you, whether it is for personal or professional reasons.
How can I get more information about the course I want to study?
If you can’t find the information you’re after in one of our course outlines, simply complete the enquiry form on the right-hand side of the page and a consultant will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your course in more detail.
How do I get started?
Once you have found a course you’re interested in, you can sign up straight away by clicking the ‘get started’ button on the right. Once you have paid, you will receive an email from us confirming payment as well as an email from the course provider with your next steps for enrolment.
Enrolling
When do I need to enrol by?
Enrolment dates and course start dates will depend on the course you choose and this information can be found on the information page of the course you’re interested in. Some courses allow you to start at anytime, so once you have paid for your course, you will receive your enrolment information from the course provider and be able to start learning straight away.
Can I get credits for subjects that I have studied or use the course subjects as credit for future study?
Depending on which course you want to enrol in, you may be eligible for credit for previous study or be able to use your units as credit for future study. Find out if your prior learning is relevant by speaking to a study consultant once you have either enquired using the form at the right-hand side of the course information page or paid for your chosen course.
How long do I have to wait after paying for my course?
Once you have chosen a course and completed the payment process, you should hear from a study consultant from your course provider within 48 hours.

Online learning
What is the difference between studying online and on campus?
When studying online you will learn exactly the same things as you would in person, the only difference is in the delivery. Online students benefit from the flexibility of learning at their own pace, in their own time, and they don’t have to commute or relocate to study. With growing technological capabilities, online forums and dedicated student support, course providers are able to offer a high level of communication and resources to online and distance education students.
How do I get my course material after enrolling?
Each course provider has a different way of delivering course materials, although many of our online courses offer downloadable content once you gain access with your own student ID and login information.
What kind of interaction will I have with teaching staff and other students?
The way you make contact with your tutors and/or lecturers depends on the course provider you choose, but regardless of who you’re working with, you will have plenty of interaction with your course coordinators. Online courses typically offer a forum environment where students can discuss coursework, assignments and exams, so you’ll not only receive support from your teachers, but your fellow students too.
How do I receive my certificate or qualification?
Once you have completed your course, you will receive your certificate or qualification from your course provider. The method of delivery may vary and your course provider will be able to give you more details. You can fill out the form on the right-hand side of the course information page if you’d like to get further information from the provider.
Which course is right for me?
How do I know what course is right for me?
Once you’ve found your area of interest, have a look at the course breakdown or units studied in the course. This is a great way to get a better idea of the subjects involved and whether a course is right for you or not. If you’re not sure if a course is going to meet your needs, fill out the enquiry form on the course page and a study consultant will get in touch with you to answer all your questions.
Will my certification or qualification be recognised?
All of our course certifications and qualifications are nationally recognised. If you require a certification/qualification for a specific purpose, for example a specific Microsoft IT certification, be sure to check before enrolling to ensure you are working towards the one you need. If you have any questions you can fill out the form on the right-hand side of the course information page if you’d like to get further information from the provider.

Studying
How long will my course take?
Short courses come in a variety of durations, and because many of the ones listed are available online, you can often determine how long your take to complete your course. It’s best to make sure you choose a course that not only suits your interests but also your timeline, so check the course information page for a guide. The good news is there are plenty of options so you’ll have no trouble finding the right course for you.
Can I study multiple courses at once?
You can study multiple courses if you want to, just be sure you don’t take on too much at one time! Many of the courses here are self-paced, but check for any exam or assessment dates before enrolling so that you avoid any schedule clashes.

Student support
Do shorter courses mean less student support?
Our short courses are offered by some of Australia’s leading online education providers, which means you’ll receive the same high level of student support, regardless of the length of your course.
Can I get study support over the phone?
Yes. You may be using a computer to access your course information but don’t forget that your course is provided by real people who are willing to actually talk to you when you need it. This can include advice about enrolment, coursework, assessments or any issues you may have.

Payment
How much does a short course cost?
The price of a short course will depend on the course content, the length of the course and the course provider. All of our listed courses include the price on the course listing and course information page so you know how much your ideal study option will cost before you enquire for further information or get started by making a payment.
What kind of financial support is available for students?
Short courses are typically lower in price than longer courses which means they are not eligible for government-provided financial support. If you are studying for professional development, make sure you speak to your employer, as your organisation may set aside money for assisting those who enrol in a course to enhance their abilities in the workplace. Your professional development course may also qualify as a tax deduction if it is relevant to your day job – check with your accountant or the Australian Tax Office for more details.
What payment options are available?
We offer two payment options on our site. Whether you prefer to pay by credit card or to use PayPal, we have a secure option to get you studying sooner.
How long do I have to wait after completing payment?
Once you have chosen a course and completed the payment process, you will hear from your course provider within 48 hours.
